Wilma Lee (Doyle) Grawe passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Golden Living Center - Pin Oaks in Mexico. She was a lifelong rural Vandalia/Curryville area resident. After school, Wilma worked for several years as a seamstress at the Ely Walker Garment factory in Vandalia. She then became a full-time homemaker on the family farm south of Curryville with her husband Norbert. Wilma was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church and enjoyed being outdoors with gardening and farming. She also enjoyed traveling the country with Norbert as he attended various military reunions.
Born: January 17, 1922 in rural Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Claude and Irene (Robertson) Doyle.
Married: Norbert Grawe on May 1, 1952 in Vandalia; he preceded her in death on December 4, 2011.
Survivors include: nieces: Karen and husband, David Wilkinson of Mexico; Pier and husband, Bob Hallaman of St. Louis; also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Norbert; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Harold Grawe.
