Wendell Thurman Oller passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March22, 2017 at Pin Oaks Care Center in Mexico. He worked as a carman for the Alton and Southern Railroad from 1952 to 1968 but took the call to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. In 1968, Wendell began working for the Missouri Pacific Railroad (Truck Lines Division) and remained through the Union Pacific merger, retiring in 1994.
Born: November7, 1935 in Dupo, Illinois, the son of George Blaine and Mabel (Taylor) Oller.
Married: Jacqueline Hurte; she survives.
Survivors include: wife, Jacqueline, of Mexico; son, Matt (Suzanne) Oller of Thompson; step-daughter, Denise (Steve) Chamberlain of Vandalia; daughter, Sheila (Andy) Rodgers of Cuba, Missouri; daughter, Debbie (Carl) Shiverdeck of Grassy, Missouri; daughter, Dana (Robert) McMahan of Collinsville, Illinois; son, Tim (Sherry) Oller of Troy, Illinois; son Mark (Valerie) Oller of Highland, Illinois and son, Jon (Julie) Oller of Granite City, Illinois; also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents; two brothers: George Oller Jr. and John Oller; threesisters: Georgia Moore; Winifred Carter and Betty Siebert.
Memorials are encouraged to the your local Patriot Guard Riders Club.
