Virginia Johnson

Virginia S. Johnson, age 89, of Wellsville, MO passed away at 4:29 pm Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.   Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 28, 2021 at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Rev. Brian Lehenbauer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Virginia was born on January 5, 1932, in Bowling Green, Missouri the daughter of Virgil and Ethel (Meyers) Smith. She was united in marriage to Harry O. Johnson on December 22, 1951. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Danny Smith; and three sisters, Bonnie Gates, Helen Shipley and Judy Gibson. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Michael) Baumann of Rogers, MN; sister, Millie Gish of Mexico, MO; two brothers, Darrell (Bonnie) Smith and Larry (Irene) Smith both of Louisiana, MO; two grandsons, Shawn Brookshier of Vandalia, MO and Jeffery Baumann of Boise, ID; granddaughter, Stephanie Baumann of Boise, ID; and two great-granddaughters, Autumn Brookshier and Kayden Gion.  Virginia loved spending time with her family and friends; especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and listening to music.
