Veronica M. Burks

Veronica M. Burks, age 74, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 12:56 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.  

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Waters Funeral Home.

Veronica was born on February 26, 1947, in Atkinson, Illinois the daughter of Raymond Meulebroeck and Margaret (VanQuekelberghe) Just.

Survivors include Daughter, Heather Heeren-Elliott (James) of Vandalia; Son, Chad Heeren of Vandalia; Brother, Michael Meulebroeck of Cottonwood, AZ; Two Grandsons, Caleb Elliott, and Michael Heeren; Granddaughter, Ashlee Heeren; and Ex-Husband, Jim Burks of Mesa, AZ. 

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Bradley Ransdell; and Sister, Carolyn Clark.

Veronica graduated from Atkinson High School in Atkinson, IL and worked for Revlon makeup for 40 years before retiring. She was also the owner of a small trucking company. She enjoyed gardening and had the biggest green thumb you could imagine, she could make anything grow. She liked to watch movies and cartoons with her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. She was often found cuddling with her cat, Tommy. Veronica loved to travel and had visited almost every state. At the age of 72 she had fought and won her battle against breast cancer. Veronica was 11 days away from celebrating her 75th birthday and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
