Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. graveside services will be held at the Vandalia Cemetery located north of Vandalia on Missouri State Route F.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.

Steven Michael Sutton passed away unexpectedly at 7:35 p.m. at the home of his mother in Vandalia, Missouri. Steven was a 1972 Van-Far high school graduate. Devoted to family, he had spent the day on an outing with his mother, Mary Bennethum. Only two nights earlier, the two St. Louis Cardinals fans had stayed up late to watch their team win a World Series title. Mr. Sutton also followed football's Kansas City Chiefs and also enjoyed fishing. During high school he was a standout in football, basketball and track. He had worked for nearly the past five years as the safety coordinator at Titan Wheel in Quincy. Steven had attended the United Methodist Church when a resident here several years ago.
Born: March 13, 1954 in Van Wert, Ohio the son of Paul Edgar Sutton and Mary Evelyn (Bixler) Bennethum.
Married: Sherry Whitney in 1973.
Survivors include: mother, Mary E. Bennethum of Vandalia, Missouri; father, Paul E. Sutton of Celina, Ohio; one son, Nicholas A. and wife, Teresa Sutton of Macomb, Illinois; one brother, Mark and wife, Cathy Sutton of Mahomet, Illinois; two sisters, Paula and husband, Steven Wieberg of Lawson, Missouri; Lori Sutton of Farber, Missouri.
Preceded in death by: two infant children, Joseph and Rachel Sutton.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
