Interment will be in the Farber Cemetery.

Sibyl V. (Hobbs) Jackson passed away at 7:22 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. She attended country schools in the rural Middletown and Farber area. Sibyl was a Christian by faith and baptized into the Baptist Church. After finishing school, she and her mother-in-law fixed the meals and ran the Farber School Cafeteria for several years. Sibyl then worked in the office at the CE Refractories in Farber for several years and also worked at the Waters Furniture Store. She managed a garment factory in Pleasant Hill, Illinois for a few years. Sibyl then returned to Vandalia and was an owner/manager of the Cal-Jac Garment Factory for several years. She loved playing golf and had enjoyed fishing and boating at Mark Twain Lake. Sibyl also enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
Born: May 15, 1921 in rural Middletown, Missouri the daughter of James and Vica (Trower) Hobbs.
Married: John E. Vannoy in June 1936; he preceded her in death in May 1963; she then married Raymond Earl Jackson on October 22, 1966 in Montgomery City, Missouri; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1994.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lynda C. and husband, Phillip Williams of Vienna, Illinois; one sister, Dorothy Goran of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren: John and wife, Ann Vannoy of Richmond, Virginia; James Michael and wife, Julie Vannoy of St. Louis; Teresa and husband, Bill Hutton of St. Louis; Kevin Williams of Kansas City and seven great-grandchildren: Sarah, Laura, Amy, Heather, Katie, Alex and Colin. She was also thankful for her special friends Dr. Crisanto and Thelma Gualberto, Doris McMorris and her caregiver for the past 18 months, Mary Ellen Baskett all of Vandalia.
Preceded in death by: one son, James E. Vannoy in 1973; one brother, Orville Hobbs; one sister, Myrtle Alderson.
