Officiating will be: Rev. Derek Grigg and Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: Shirley Forgy - pianist; Carolyn Bailey - soloist.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: John Fitzgerald, Kevin Lionberger, Bill Stafford, Paul Gore, Jim Elzea and Bill Maxwell.
Shirley Lois (Elzea) Clinton died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at the family's home in Vandalia, Missouri. She had been a lifelong Vandalia area resident and member of the First Baptist Church. Shirley was very active in the church serving as the choir director for many years and a member of Chapter CE of the PEO Sisterhood of Vandalia. After graduating with her teaching degree from Central Methodist College, Shirley taught music in the Steelville and Vandalia schools. She had also taught history at a St. Louis area school. Shirley had been a member of the St. Cecilia Music Club and the "Silvertones", a barbershop singing group. During all these activities, Shirley helped her husband Hal, operate Clinton Drugs in Vandalia for many years. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, reading and music.
Born: September 5, 1925 the daughter of Marcus Lee and Lois (Tully) Elzea.
Married: Halbert L. Clinton at the First Baptist Church in Vandalia on June 18, 1947.
Survivors include: husband, Hal of the home; one son, Marcus L. Clinton of Hannibal; one daughter, Charlotte L. and husband, Robert Vilce of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren, Maija Vilce, Eric Vilce and Lydia Vilce all of Anchorage.
Preceded in death by: her parents.
