Service:

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: Denise Allen, pianist; Debbie Salois, Janet Epperson, Barb Straube and John Wallace, vocalists.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tom Spradling, Mike Martin, Ernie Duckworth, P. A. Hull, Keith Pease and Jerry Epperson. Honorary pallbearers: Craig Fennewald, Rodney Martin and Eugene McDonald.

Rodney Alvin Burnett passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at his home north of Vandalia after a long illness. Rodney was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and a member of the Van-Far Class of 1971. He had farmed all of his life and had worked at North American Refractories in Farber for many years. Most recently, Rodney had worked at Epperson farms until his health prevented him from working any longer. Rodney was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia and he enjoyed basketball and NASCAR racing. He especially enjoyed watching his son, Benny, race his Dwarf Car.

Born: July 8, 1953 in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Alvin and Carole Jean (Winders) Burnett.

Married: Nancy E. Kampeter in Vandalia on October 7, 1972; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: one son, Benny Burnett of Vandalia and his friend, Sarah Hughes of Center, Missouri; one daughter, Allison and husband, Danny Vaughan of Wardsville, Missouri; mother and father-in-law, Vince and Alice Kampeter of Farber, Missouri; one brother, Rick and wife, Carla Burnett of Farber, Missouri; brother and sister-in-laws, Ed and Penny Kampeter of Curryville, Missouri and Barry and Charlene Garrett of Columbia, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents.

Memorials may be made to the Van-Far FFA or the Van-Far Booster Club.
