Robert M. Stotler passed away at 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia. Robert was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Van-Far High School with the Class of 1965. After school, he owned and operated a service station in Farber for several years. Robert then drove a delivery truck for Elzea Egg Farm and also worked in construction then. In 1993, he started working for the City of Vandalia in the Utility Department. Robert had several positions but was a utility serviceman during a majority of the time. He had been working at the Water Plant for nearly three years before he retired in March of 2013. Robert enjoyed riding his bicycle, camping, fishing, his pets and gardening.
Born: October 8, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri the son of Cecil Clyce "Red" and Myrtle Cecilia (Parsons) Stotler.
Married: Doris Young; he then married Wanda Mae Morris on September 4, 1987 in Mexico, Missouri.
Survivors include: wife, Wanda of Vandalia; one son, Dr. Michael and wife, Jenny Stotler of St. Louis; one daughter, Lori and husband, Jimmy Fitts of Jacksonville, Mississippi; two step-sons: Claud and wife, Theresa Green of Laddonia; Delbert and wife, Monica Green of California, Missouri; one step-daughter, Teresa and husband, Keith Mouser of Vandalia; two brothers: Jim and wife Doris Stotler of Auxvasse; Kenny and wife, Diana Stotler of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren: Adam Tharp, Sara Fitts, Kim Miller, Christina Cason, Christopher Green, Brandon Green, Amber Green, Dylan Mouser and Micholas Green.
Preceded in death by: parents.
