Robert L. "Bob" Sidwell, age 75, of Lake Ozark, MO formerly of St. Louis County area passed away at 11:15 am Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 10301 Big Bend Rd. Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. Jerry West will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
A visitation celebrating the life of Robert L. Sidwell will be held at 11:00 am until the time of service Wednesday September 30, 2020 at the Chapel Hill Mortuary.
Due to the public gathering restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral services for Robert are limited to a maximum attendance of 75 people inside the building, so the family is asking you respect these restrictions. The public is welcome to attend the graveside services for Robert but are asked to wear masks and social distance. Family and friends may view the service live via Facebook under the Waters Funeral Home page at 12:00 pm on Wednesday. The service may also be viewed on Robert's memorial page at www.watersfuneral.com after the service.

Robert was born on June 1, 1945, in Mexico, Missouri the son of William and Emma (Ortcutter) Sidwell.
He was united in marriage to Joyce E. Sidwell on March 7, 2020 in Lake Ozark, MO at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She survives him of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, David P. Sidwell of Breckenridge Hills, MO, Robert W. (Kimberly) Sidwell of St. Peters, MO; one daughter, Rebecca L. (Daniel) Buehner of Allen, TX; one sister, Pamela A. (Thomas W.) Hutson of Hannibal, MO; mother of his children; Wanda Hogan Sidwell; step-children, James Wilmas, Stephen Wilmas, Michelle Wilmas Ackerman, Angela (Brian) Schibi, Joshua (Charyn) Epling and Christopher Epling; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many more loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Edward Sidwell and James Michael Sidwell and two previous wife's, Joyce Bales and Nancy Sidwell.
Bob graduated from University City Senior High. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Lake Ozark, MO where he served as a Deacon and was devoted to serving the lord.
Bob retired in 2011 from the City of Jennings, MO as a building commissioner. Prior to that he was a general contractor in family owned Sidwell Construction where he specialized in commercial and residential construction. He was involved in several projects in the St. Louis area including the remodeling of the Chase Park Plaza, the building of the area 7-Eleven convenience stores, remodeling on the defense mapping plant and many others. Bob was a talented craftsman and had a vision that was years beyond others. He was known as the original "Bob the builder" and there was not a project he couldn't find a solution to. Bob was an inspiration to everyone he met and always showed his warm and caring heart towards all often doing things for others and simply asking them to just pay it forward. He loved children and every holiday would fill his office with gifts to take to the children's homes and hospitals. Bob loved scuba diving and woodcarving, he was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club where he learned to hone his craft and show his talent. He loved Elvis Presley and was a fan of 80's rock music especially REO Speedwagon. He was the life of the party and made any family gathering special by his quick witted sense of humor.
Pallbearers will be Jazmine Sidwell, Taylor Dunning, Kayla Sidwell, Jesse Sidwell, Nick Bates, Connor Sidwell, Mason Buehner and Bryce Buehner.
