Officiating will be: Pastor Ralph Swarthout.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steve Jarboe, Terry Jarboe, Randy Gregory, Steve Pritchett, Philip Bibb Jr. and Gregg Kent.
Robert "Bob" M. Jarboe passed away at 9:22 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. Bob attended Middletown schools and after school entered the U. S. Army during World War II. After his service, he married Betty Jane Burgmeyer and they moved to the Vandalia area. Bob started working for the City of Vandalia on the street department and retired in July 1992 after over 41 years of service. His last position was as the street department superintendent. Bob attended the First Christian Church and was an avid gardner. He also enjoyed spending alot of time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born: January 2, 1927 in rural Middletown, Missouri the son of William Alford and Ruby Lee (King) Jarboe.
Married: Betty Jane Burgmeyer on December 30, 1950 in Bowling Green, Missouri; she survives at the home.
Survivors include: wife, Betty of Vandalia; one son, Richard E. and wife, Gail Jarboe of rural Bowling Green, Missouri; one daughter, Karen F. and husband, Kenneth Jones of Vandalia; three sisters, Alice Pritchett of Bowling Green; Betty Dempsey of Sidney, Ohio and Catherine Page of Galesburg, Illinois; four grandchildren, Steven Jarboe, Laura Kent, Jennifer and Tiffany Jones; one great-granddaughter, Bailee Kent; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents, one brother, Donald D. Jarboe and one sister, Virginia Gregory.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
