Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jared Baskett, Justin Jones, Aron Baskett, John Ogden, Todd Hutcheson and Kriten Grimmett. Honorary pallbearers: Amanda Shearon, Richard Cordes, Taylor Baskett, Andrea Hutcheson, Erica Hollenbeck, Jessica Baskett, Mason Carver, Cameron Jones and Dylan Baskett.

Robert Eugene "Bob" Baskett passed away at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Golden Living Center - Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville, Missouri. He attended area schools and was a longtime resident of the Vandalia area. After serving his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, he worked as a mechanic in his own garage at the east edge of Vandalia for many years. Bob then started working for Hickman's IGA as a carryout and stocking clerk until just a few years ago when his health prevented him from working any longer. His hobbies included country music, camping and spending time with his family.

Born: January 12, 1933 in Linneus, Missouri the son of Jerry Guy and Pearl M. (Henderson) Baskett.

Married: Mary Helen Baker on August 21, 1953 in Bowling Green, Missouri; she preceded him in death on September 20, 2011.

Survivors include: five children, Byren Baskett, Nancy Warren, Patricia Grimmett and Gary Baskett all of Vandalia and Terry Baskett of Harmony, Florida; also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Mary; two sisters: Ruth Cordes and Mildred Branham; two brothers: William Baskett and Gerald Baskett; many brothers and sisters-in-law.
