Richard R. Tredway passed away Tuesday evening, May 8, 2007 at 9:33 a.m. at the Des Peres Hospital in Des Peres, Missouri. Richard was a 1946 Vandalia High School graduate and after school, joined the U. S. Army for one enlistment period. He then came back and worked at the International Shoe Company for over 38 years, retiring in 1988. Richard then drove a school bus in the Rockwood School District of St. Louis for 17 years until 2005. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Born: January 16, 1929 in rural Curryville, Missouri the son of James Cleveland and Willie Simpson (Burns) Tredway.
Married: Phyllis Jane Louney in Vandalia on July 15, 1950; she survives at their home in Eureka, Missouri.
Survivors include: wife, Jane of Eureka; twin sons, Dr. Trent L. and wife, Annisa Tredway of Seattle, Washington and Dr. Trevor L. and wife, Dr. Dorrie Tredway of O'Fallon, Illinois; one daughter, Tracy J. and husband, Paul Schmitz of Green Bay, Wisconsin; one brother, Dale and wife, Shirley Tredway of Louisiana, Missouri; one sister, Sue and husband, Don Beedle of Vandalia; four grandchildren, Emily J. Schmitz and Peter J. Schmitz of Green Bay and Jack A. Tredway and Allie J. Tredway of O'Fallon; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; five brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, 1465 S. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63104.
