Ralph Eugene"Gene" Pargeon passed away at 11:45 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home in Vandalia. Gene grew up and attended schools in the Curryville area. After school, he started working at the CE Refractories near Farber for 18 years until the plant closed. He then worked at the Charles Wood Manufacturing company in Warrenton for a few years. Gene then worked for Cosmoflex in Hannibal as a machine operator until his retirement in 2012. He was a Christian by faith and baptism, and enjoyed the outdoors. Gene was a member of the Beagle Hunt Club of Perry, enjoyed fishing, hunting, browsing the flea markets, training his hunting dogs, and spending time with his family.
Born: September 28, 1948 in Mexico, the son of Glenn Edwin and Norma Lee (Wooten) Pargeon.
Married: Brinda Lee Fielder in Vandalia on February 19, 1983.
Survivors include: father, Glenn of Bowling Green; wife, Brinda of Vandalia; four sons: Jeffrey E. and wife, Carrie Pargeon of Frankford; Errett D. and wife, Pamela Pargeon of Vandalia; John T. and wife, Kasey Pargeon of Vandalia; Sean T. and wife, Wendy Lovelace of Jefferson City; one daughter: Roma Lee and husband, Tony Lovell of Curryville; one brother, Arnold L. Pargeon of Jefferson City; four sisters: Linda M. Bogue of Bowling Green; Judy K. Dodd of Vandalia; Glenda L. Cunningham of Louisiana; Penny S. Pargeon of Syracuse, New York; 13grandchildren: Heather Hawkins, Holly Pargeon, Davon Pargeon, Lily Pargeon, Michael Lovell, Brian Lovell, Steven Lovell, Payton Pargeon, Katelyn Pargeon, Isabella Pargeon, Joscelyn Pargeon, Jaxeson Pargeon and Zach Lovelace; two great-grandchildren: Bryanna Hawkins and Madyson Hawkins.
Preceded in death by: mother; one son: Christopher S. Lovelace; three brothers: Eddie L. Pargeon, Richard L. Pargeon, and Michael Pargeon who died in infancy.
