Phillip Michael Ogden passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and graduated from Van-Far High School in 1963. A few years after school, he joined the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam. After returning back from the service, he worked several jobs and recently retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Born: October 28, 1944 in Mexico, Missouri the son of Cottle P. and Ara Olaura (Damron) Ogden.

Survivors include: mother, Ara of Vandalia; one son, Michael D. Ogden of Tipton, Missouri; one daughter, Melissa Dawn Smith of Memphis, Missouri; one sister, Cheryl O. Culver of Summerfield, Illinois; six grandchildren: Layla A. Ogden of Bowling Green, Missouri; Carlee Smith, Bryce Smith and Austin Smith all of Memphis, Missouri; Kristan Lippelman and Elizabeth Lippelman both of Huntsville, Missouri.
Preceded in death by: his father, Cottle P. Ogden and two daughters: Melissa Dawn (Flowers) Lippelman and Brandy Ball.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the donor's choice.
