Paula Rose Tolar

Paula Rose Tolar, age 70, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 1:50 pm Sunday, September 15, 2024, at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis. 

Visitation celebrating Paula's life will be held 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday September 19, 2024, at the Waters Funeral Home.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Paula was born on June 20, 1954, in Vandalia, MO the daughter of Orval and Rose (Luckett) Mefford. She was united in marriage to Harold Tolar November 21, 1990 in Mexico, MO. He survives her of the home.

Other survivors include her mother, Rose Mefford of Vandalia, MO; daughters, Breezy Brandenburger of Bowling Green, MO and Shelby Gaug and (John) of Sturgeon, MO ; brother, Danny Mefford (Evonne) of Vandalia, MO; sisters, Wilma Leake (Ronald) of Perry, MO and Cindy Kohl of Vandalia, MO; grandchildren, Brogan Brandenburger, Joseph Frey and Brianna Gaug; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Tolar was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvette Kirkpatrick and grandson, Bryson Brandenburger.

Paula attended Van-Far High School and went to work at Cerf Brothers in Vandalia and later retired from Green Supply in Vandalia.

Mrs. Tolar enjoyed the simple things in life. Fishing, cooking (her family's favorite fried chicken), and tending to her flower beds were all things Paula treasured. Paula also helped out as an associate with the Vandalia Area Fairgrounds. Paula's biggest love was her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren.

Paula was a member of White Rose Baptist Church in Bowling Green, MO.
