Patsy Sue Coose, age 90, of Vandalia, MO passed peacefully from this life at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, at her home.
She was born October 12, 1931 in Bowling Green, MO , the daughter of Hardin and Bessie (Harrelson) Henry.
She graduated from the Bowling Green High School in 1949, and married the love of her life, Malcolm Coose, on November 13, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2021, one month prior to their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Survivors included two daughters; Teresa (Charlie) Wright of Vandalia, MO, and Vickie (David Graf) Thompson of Jacksonville, FL, one grandson; Allen (Trina Hays) Wright of Vandalia, MO, two granddaughters; Leanne (Joshua) Levy of Atlanta, GA and Ashley (Kevin) McKinnie of Springfield, MO, two great grandsons; LaTrell Wright and Lamont McKinnie, three great-granddaughters; A'Brianna McKinnie, Olivia Levy and Lexi Levy, three nieces; Marsha Kay (Gary) Peery, Debby (Rex) Moore and Cathy (Mark) Sutton and many other loved family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her brother; Clem Henry, sister; Frieda Denney, niece Sharon Yonce, nephew; Kenny Askey, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Maurice (M.M.) and Alma (Henderson) Coose, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Leo and Norma Jean Coose and sister-in-law; Etolia Gordon.
Patsy dedicated her life to her family, church and community. She was a long-time member of the Brice Friendly Neighbors and Round Grove Extension Clubs and Round Grove Community Association. She was also a long-tome member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and regularly attended services and activities until recent years when her health declined. Patsy and Malcolm were charter members and very active in the Pike Area Quail Unlimited Chapter. They had many fun times, new experiences and fond memories from their years in PAQU. Patsy enjoyed collecting aprons, cookbooks, angels and teapots.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Vandalia First Baptist Church, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are special friends; Jerry and Flora Mae Northcutt, Tommy and Wanda Lovell, Alan and Debbie Robertson, Ellen Hamby, Shirley Morris and Joyce Keller.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice or Elm Grove Baptist Church in care of Waters Funeral Home.
