Otis Blanche Silvey passed away at 3:38 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green, Missouri. Otis Blanche was a 1941 graduate of Vandalia High School and a lifelong rural Pike county resident. She had worked for several years as a seamstress at the National Garment Factory in Wellsville, Missouri. She was a Baptist by faith and really enjoyed working crossword puzzles as her hobby. Otis Blanche was a 100+ gallon blood donor and also enjoyed sewing, reading and watching her grandchildren play ball.
Born: October 1, 1923 in rural Audrain County, Missouri the daughter of Otis Creighton and Cora Belle (Kerns) Moore.
Married: James Arthur Silvey on September 27, 1940 in New London, Missouri.
Survivors include: three sons: Raymond Nathaniel Silvey of Louisiana, Missouri; Lawrence "Larry" Wayne and wife, Mary Silvey of Louisiana, Missouri; Kenny E. and wife, Angelia Silvey of Bowling Green, Missouri; two daughters: Cora Lee and husband, Thomas Chandler of Curryville, Missouri and Patricia Kay Wade of Lebanon, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceded in death by: one son: James Richard Silvey; one brother: Mayo Chappel Moore; one sister: Wilma Roberta Long; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Community Loving Care Hospice, 914 W. Main St., Bowling Green, Missouri 63334.
