Noel William Martin passed away unexpectedly at 6:54p.m. on Thursday, June30, 2016 at his home in Vandalia.Noel grew up and attended schools in the Valley Springs, Arkansas area. After school, he worked as a butcher in a slaughterhouse and also in the Consumer's Grocery Store in Harrison, Arkansas for nearly 15 years. During the same time, Noel also worked for the Flexsteel Furniture Company in Harrison and worked on a logging crew. He and his family moved to the rural Lincoln county area where for over 15 years he worked and later started his own drywall finishing business. In 2006 he retired due to health reasons but always remained active. He attended the Peno Baptist Church and was a long time member of Painters Union Local #1156 in St. Charles. Noel enjoyed any kind of hunting, fishing in bass tournaments, golf and spending time with their grandchildren.

Married: Debra Fern Lemon on June 30, 1972 in Harrison, Arkansas; she survives at the home.
Survivors include: wife, Debra of Vandalia; three sons: Shane N. and wife, Deedee Martin of Clarksville; Will J. and wife, Lindsey Martin of Clarksville; Todd T. and wife, Jennifer Martin of Vandalia; one daughter, Chandra D. and husband, Larry Parris of Lake Ozark; one brother, G. A. and wife, Jane Martin of Harrison, Arkansas; six sisters: Rozella Smallwood of Joplin; Katherine Collins and Eunice and husband, Dennis Collins allof Piercetown, Arkansas; Laura and husband, Jim Bohannon and Sue Reddell all of Hasty, Arkansas; Eleah and husband, Alton Stuart of Jasper, Arkansas; 14grandchildren: Shaylen, Bailey, Kyle, Jacob, Cheyenne, Nathaniel, Lucas, Cole, Angelene, Danika, Gabrielle, Michael, Daniel and Alex; also survived by special son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle, Jeremy Colbert and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by: parents, one sister, Marcella Baker; three brothers-in-law: Clyde Smallwood, Glen Collins and Elzie Reddell.
