Service:

Monday, May 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Harmony Church Cemetery south of Curryville, Missouri.
Officiating will be: Chaplain Pat Glenn.
Music provided by:
Interment will be in the New Harmony Church Cemetery south of Curryville with full military honors.
Pallbearers: Michael Smith, Mark Smith, Matthew Smith, Randy Jennings, Jason Jennings and Calvin Jennings Jr.

Michael Keith Smith passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 in rural Louisiana, Missouri. He attended schools and grew up in the Lexington, Missouri area. Michael served his country in the U. S. Army for three years in the early 70's. While stationed in Hawaii, he met and married Roxie Helepololei. Upon returning to the mainland after his military service, they lived in the Kansas City area where he worked as a paramedic for many years. Michael had recently worked at Spartan Metals in Mexico before his health prevented him from working. He was a Christian by faith and enjoyed music, TV and anything to do with Civil War history.

Born: July 15, 1954 in Lexington, Missouri the son of Forest Lee and E. Louise (Wilkinson) Smith.

Married: Roxie Helepololei in Hawaii on September 8, 1973; she preceded him in death in April 2000.

Survivors include: three sons: Michael and wife, Susan Smith; Mark and wife, Stephanie Smith; Matthew and wife, Crystal Smith, all of the Tampa Bay, Florida area; one brother, Tony Rende Jr. of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two sisters, Vickie Cummins of Oak Grove, Missouri and Brenda Jennings of rural Louisiana, Missouri; step-father, Anthony Rende of Lone Jack, Missouri; four grandchildren: Sara, Michael, Kayla and Hailey Smith all of the Tampa Bay area.

Preceded in death by: parents and wife, Roxie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the donor's choice.
