Lynelle Elaine McCormack, age 73, of Vandalia Missouri, passed away peacefully at the Tri-County Baptist Home of Vandalia on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Waters Funeral Home. Reverend David Land Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at the Vandalia Cemetery.
A visitation celebrating Lynelle will be at 9:00 am, until the time of service.
Lynelle was born the daughter of Ethelynn Tabitha Campbell Tullock Singleton and Jake Dennis Singleton on March 23, 1951, in Bismarck Missouri.
Lynelle lived and worked at the Ruth Jenson Village and Sheltered Workshop in Bowling Green Missouri several years before her marriage.
Lynelle and Howard Eugene McCormack were married August 13, 1983, at the First Baptist Church in Vandalia. They spent over 37 years together in which they enjoyed attending church, traveling together on vacations and visiting family and friends. She also enjoyed painting wooden crafts which Howard made, embroidering and making flower arrangements. Howard and Lynelle were well known for taking walks to the old drug store where they would sit and enjoy a nickel cup of coffee, soda or ice cream while visiting with friends.
Lynelle is survived by one stepdaughter, Mary Layman of Florida, one step grandson, Keith McCormack, one sister, Donna Turner and husband Wayne, two brother, Carl Tullock and wife Barbara, Dennis Singleton and wife Nan. Many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, one great-great nephew and one great-great niece. Two special friends, Katrina Lynelle Gordon who also shared her name and Betty Steadman; also, many other friends and family who helped her in life.
Lynelle was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, Parents, two sisters, Betty Wilcox and Rita Foree, two brothers, Clifford Tullock, Dickie Tullock and a brother-in-law, Bob Brewer.
Memorials may be made to the Vandalia Bible Holiness Church, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
