Lena "Mae" Luebbers, 96, of Curryville, MO passed away at 5:10 am Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Tri-County Care Center, where she had resided for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. Bro. Kenny Haddock will officiate. Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery following the service.
A visitation celebrating the life of Lena "Mae" Luebbers will be held at 10:00 am until the time of service Saturday March 6, 2021, at the Waters Funeral Home.
Mrs. Luebbers was born September 20, 1924, to Richard Clyde and Leta Jarboe Woodson. Leta Woodson died on April 28, 1936, and Richard married Mary Woods Woodson, who raised Mrs. Luebbers and her two brothers, Richard Woodson and Raymond Woodson. On December 15, 1945, she married Bernard J. "Ben" Luebbers, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2003. They lived and operated a farm near Curryville, Missouri for many years.
Mrs. Luebbers was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, brothers, and nephew, Mark Woodson.
She is survived by her nephews, Gary Woodson of Oregon, Daniel Woodson of Texas, and Steven Woodson of Wyoming.
Mae loved being on the farm, she enjoyed mowing grass and working in her flower gardens, spending time with her dogs and cats and talking with people everywhere she went.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Wankel, Woody Borgschulte, Jack Borgschulte, Doug Weber, Mike Schumaker and Steve Woodson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
