June Ann Hopkins

June Ann Hopkins, age 80, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 4:20 am Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. William (Terry) Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bowling Green, MO following the service.

A visitation celebrating the life of June Ann Hopkins will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Waters Funeral Home.

June was born on June 2, 1940, in Cyrene, Missouri the daughter of William C. and Rita Mae (Boston) Grote.

She was united in marriage to Robert E. Hopkins on July 15, 1956.  He preceded her in death on December 7, 1987.

Survivors include her children, Lillian "Lil" Hopkins of Mexico, William "Terry" (Kelly) Hopkins of Silex, Sandra "Sandy" (Kenneth) Caldwell of Vandalia and Ronald "Ron" Hopkins; one sister, Mary Tschee of Jacksonville, IL; sixteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many other loved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Charles "Gene" Hopkins and one brother, Jewell Grote.

June graduated from Bowling Green High School and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowling Green, MO but recently had been attending at the South Side Baptist Church in Vandalia.

She was a CNA for the Pinn Oaks Nursing Home and also worked in the home health industry. June loved spending time with her family, liked listening to gospel music, embroidery and reading.

Pallbearers will be Tim Caldwell, Chris Caldwell, Andrew Hopkins, David Hopkins, Shaun Hopkins, Darin Jennings, Dustan Caldwell and Dillion Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Wise, Jessica Jennings, Michelle Hopkins, Rebecca Carroll, Laura Brown, Amy Ryan, Anna Hopkins, Brittney Fowler, Lindsay Franklin and Chelsea Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Side Baptist Church, 805 West Walsh Blvd., Vandalia, MO, 63382.
