Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Travis Cunningham, Ed Potter, Ed Traynor, Darwyn Pease, Lyndell Ankrom and Todd Exendine. Honorary pallbearers: Paul Traynor, Joe Crowder, Mike Stolle, Chipper Traynor, Randy Rees, Kenny Pease, Jon Pease and Cody Pease.
Joyce Marie Pease passed away early Tuesday morning, October 7, 2008 at her home in Old Monroe, Missouri from heart complications. Joyce was a 1981 Bowling Green High School graduate. She then attended the Cosmetology School in Mexico in 1982 and worked at a Wellsville beauty shop for a short while. Other positions Joyce held over the years include: secretary at St. Charles Eye Care Center, Old Monroe Styrofoam factory and secretary at Washington University in St. Louis. In 1991, she decided to pursue a career in education. Joyce attended the University of Missouri, St. Louis, graduating with honors on January 8, 1995 with a bachelors of science degree in elementary education and early childhood education. Joyce continued her education later as she attended Lindenwood University graduating August 15, 2002 with a master of science degree in education. She began her teaching career at Bowling Green R-1 school where she taught kindergarten and then first grade. Later on, she taught kindergarten for a number of years at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Old Monroe. Joyce joined the Gazette Baptist Church around the age of 10 and some of her interests were flower gardening, motorcycling, horseback riding, shopping and most anything to do with the outdoors. Joyce loved life and had a special place in her heart for children and animals, including her two cats Spanky and Pooky. She will always be remembered for her willingness to help others and her great love for her family.
Born: June 9, 1963 in Mexico, Missouri the daughter of Edsell L. and Carol Jane (Traynor) Cunningham.
Married: James R. "Jim" Pease on December 4, 1982 in the Gazette Baptist Church; he survives at the home.
Survivors include: husband, Jim Pease of Old Monroe, Missouri; parents: Edsell and Carol Cunningham of rural Middletown, Missouri; mother-in-law, Geraldine Pease of Bowling Green, Missouri; one brother, Bob and wife Teresa Cunningham and their daughter Marissa Cunningham of rural Middletown, Missouri; one nephew, Travis and wife, Sylvia Cunningham and their daughter Hope of Bowling Green; one niece, Candice and husband Ed Potter and their daughter Ashley of Curryville; one brother-in-law, Kenny Pease of Moscow Mills and his sons Jonathon and Cody Pease of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; three uncles: Gene and wife, Erma Traynor of rural Vandalia; Bill and wife, Sandra Kay Traynor of Bowling Green, Missouri and Paul and wife, Sydney Traynor of Louisiana, Missouri. Also survived by many cousins and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by: an infant brother, Ronnie Wayne Cunningham, grandparents: Podge and Marie Traynor and Harry and Minnie Cunningham; uncle, Guy "Bud" Cunningham; father-in-law, John Raymond Pease.
