Johney Belinda Baird

Johney Belinda Baird, age 68, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 1:34 pm Friday, November 26, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Nathan Geesey will officiate. Burial will be in the Laddonia Cemetery following the service.

Visitation celebrating Johney's life will be held at 12:00 pm until the time of service Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Waters Funeral Home.

Johney was born on April 4, 1953, in Rector, Arkansas the daughter of Raymond and Anna Sue (Meese) Kent.

She was united in marriage to Larry Baird, Sr. on July 6, 1971, in Frankford, Missouri. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include Son, Larry (Crystal Bontz) Baird, Jr. of Vandalia; Daughter, Angie (Andrew Shaw) Schlotter of Vandalia; Four Brothers, Ray (Agnes) Kent of New Florence, Chuck Kent of Wellsville, Bradley Kent of New Florence, and Dewitt (Doris) Vaugn of Middletown; Three Sisters, Sandra Martin of Jefferson City, Alice Hill of Middletown, and Lisa Kent of Middletown; Two Granddaughters, Josie Bontz, and Julia Schlotter; and Two Grandsons, Weston Schlotter, and Aaden Shaw.

She was preceded in death by Father, Raymond Kent; Mother, Anna Sue (Meese) Kent; and Stepmother, Juanita Kent.

Johney graduated from Bowling Green High School Class of 1971 and worked as a CNA for Tri-County Nursing Home, Lagoons Garment Factory and Target Windows in Vandalia.

She loved to sew and spend time in her flower gardens. Anyone who knew Johney would say she was friendly and enjoyed visiting with people. She was often found making her daily trip to the grocery store just to visit the workers and people in the community. She loved her family and being with them more than anything.

Pallbearers will be Bill Maiden, Travis McDonald, Jessie McCurdy, John Pargeon, Heath Gaston, Doug Grote and Wes Fuget.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bufford Barnes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Waters Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
