Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Balwanz.
Music provided by: Shirley Stubblefield, pianist and Virginia and Bruce Carlson, duet.
Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Middletown, Missouri.
Pallbearers: Steve Maskey, Terry Maskey, Gary Deppe, Bob Jeffries, Kenneth Maskey and Leslie Maskey. Honorary pallbearers: Murray Dean Maskey, Stanley Brooks and Virgil Purvis.
John R. Maskey died at 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, May 5, 2004 at his home in rural Wellsville. John was born and lived his entire life on the family farm and was respected by all those who knew him. In addition to farming, raising cattle and sheep, he worked at Harbison Walker Refractories for over 29 years, retiring in 1974. John enjoyed visiting family and friends; reading, hunting and fishing; going to sales; taking care of his dogs and cats; working on his tractors and chain saws.
Born: September 23, 1909 in rural Audrain County, Missouri the son of Ulysses Grant and Elizabeth Ellen (Rentfro) Maskey.
Married: Viola Frances Pease on December 12, 1936 in Mexico; she survives at the home.
Survivors include: wife, Viola of the home; one son, Russell L. Maskey, Carol Natividad and foster grandson Dickie L. and wife, Lynda Austin and their children, David and Ashley; one daughter, Shirley M. Bradley and grandson, Kyle J. and wife, Charlotte Bradley; one sister, Mae Maskey of Vandalia; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: four brothers, Grant Maskey, Roy Maskey, Forest Maskey and Eli Maskey; four sisters, Adalena Parker, Anna S. Maskey, Althea Hoffmeyer and Lillian Kisor.
