Jean M. Rahmeyer, 49, of Vandalia, formerly of Mexico, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2004, at her home in rural Vandalia.
Jean was born August 21, 1955, in Joliet, Ill., a daughter of William F. and Gertrude M. (Murphy) Kasper. She was a member of the 1974 Class of Mexico High School. On September 23, 1989, she married Gary W. Rahmeyer who survives at the home.
She had lived most of her adult life in Mexico, Santa Fe, and the Vandalia area. She had worked as an EMT for Ralls County Ambulance, helped during tax season at H&R Block in Mexico, and recently had worked for Bank of America in Vandalia. She was also a licensed funeral director, and had worked with her husband at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. She was Catholic, and enjoyed raising animals and growing flowers on the farm.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents of Mexico, one son Christopher E. Neale of Mexico: one brother, Dale Kasper of Winfield: two sisters, Joanne and husband Kenny Nelson and Kathy and husband Darren Smith, all of Mexico; one granddaughter, Rachel M. Neale of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
Her grandparents preceded her in death.
