Jason Raymond Dougherty, age 41, of Curryville, MO passed away at 1:00 pm Friday, September 13, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Waters Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Visitation celebrating Jason's life will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the Waters Funeral Home.
Jason was born on February 13, 1983, in Fort Pierce, FL the son of James Dougherty and Cindy Lovins.
Survivors include his parents of Curryville, MO; grandmother, Jacklyn Dougherty of Curryville, MO; twin brother, James Dougherty and wife Elizabeth of Wentzville, MO; brother, Jessy Lovins of Washington, MO; sisters, Jessica Stevens and husband Nathan of Fayetteville, AR and Raelene Bowman and husband Brandon of Palm Coast, FL; aunt, Tammy Kelley of Brazito, MO; nieces and nephews, Jazmine, Jadeyn, Justice, Jace and Jett.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dr. J.R. Dougherty; maternal grandparents, Donald and Helen Lovins; and brother, Daniel Dougherty.
Jason graduated from Jefferson City High School in the class of 2001. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 2001 to 2015. Jason served in the army as a 94R2P Avionics Guidance Systems Repairer at several duty stations including the 82ND Airborne Division, Fayetteville, NC, and Camp Humphreys, South Korea.
After he retired from the Army, Jason found peace and solitude raising livestock and working on the family farm. He enjoyed feeding and watching his cows, pheasants, ducks, and geese that he raised. His other interests included firearms, computers, RC cars, and drones. Above all, family and friends were Jason's true love, he enjoyed spending every moment he could with them.
Jason was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and was a Catholic by faith.
