Janet "Sue" Dillard

Janet "Sue" Dillard, age 83, of Curryville, MO passed away at 2:17 am Friday, November 3, 2023, at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.  

Janet was born on December 4, 1939, in Pittsfield, IL the daughter of Harry Claus, Jr. and Helen Savage Claus.  Janet was united in marriage to Ralph Dillard, Jr. on June 2, 1984, in Barry, IL.

Janet was employed over 20 years as an Executive Secretary.  She was a member of the Curryville Baptist Church.

Janet enjoyed traveling, music, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was an excellent cook and baker and never missed a family dinner.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Dillard, Jr; one grandson, Jacob Martin; one granddaughter, Charissa Martin; numerous great-grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Bud and Barb Malone; a special friend, Bev Swartwood; a special friend and helper, Kandy Pruitt; and many extended family members.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jim Martin; and nephew, Danny Malone.

Visitation celebrating Sue's life will be held 1:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia, MO.  Funeral services will immediately follow with Bro. Jerry Gamm officiating.  Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Curryville Baptist Church, in care of the Waters Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bud Malone, Jerry Malone, Bobby Malone, Mike Malone, Ronnie Malone, Jim Reading, Ken Fleischmann and Enos Swartz.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barb Malone, Charissa Martin, Sarah Pattara, April Bolt, Tamara Malone, Bev Swartwood, Brynlee Bolt, Barb Miller, Kandy Pruitt, Eileen Malone, Chris Bolt and Jacob Martin.
