James V. Day, 90, of Farber, MO passed away at 5:40 am Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.  

Due to the public gathering restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral services for James are private. We, the family, understand that you may want to be with us during our time of loss, but for safety reasons, we understand your absence. James was born on May 31, 1929, in Mexico, Missouri the son of Richard and Lucretia (Fox) Day. He was united in marriage to Ruth L. Perkins October 21, 1950 in Columbia, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2009.

Survivors included three sons, David Day (Sandy) of Columbia, Darren Day (Michelle) of Columbia, Dan Day (Becky) of Columbia; two daughters, Doris Britton (Lawrence Luebrecht) of Farber, Marcia "Susie" Finley (Edward Graves) of Farber; sister, Judy Martin (Bill) of Benton City; twenty two grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and other loved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; son, James Day; daughters, Donna Bise, Mary Stone, Carol Peacock; grandson, Rusty Cheney and granddaughter, Christina Stone.

James worked as a pipe fitter for Ameren and was a member of  Farber Baptist Church.

He loved playing the guitar and singing. James was often found searching for treasures at various auctions and garage sales.

Honorary pallbearers are all of James grandchildren and great grandchildren.
