Hiroko (Kim) Iihara Cummins, age 87, of Vandalia, MO formerly a long time resident of Macon, MO passed away at 6:13 am Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
A private family service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Garden in Macon.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia.
Hiroko was born on October 28, 1932, in Aikawa-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan the daughter of Masanosuke and Kimiko Iihara.
She was united in marriage to Walter D. Cummins on January 6, 1953 in Yokohama, Japan. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2013.
Survivors include one son, Wesley M. Cummins of St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, six sisters, and her husband.
Kim was a member of the Macon Presbyterian Church and worked as a certified nurses aid and physical therapy aid for both Loch Haven Nursing Home and Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, working with crafts, and playing cards.
