Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Hallie Mae Yates passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday evening, April 11, 2007 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Hallie moved to the Vandalia area as an infant and lived in the Vandalia area all her life. After school, she was a homemaker and ran a babysitting service from her home for many years, until her health prevented her from working. Hallie enjoyed watching her soap operas on television and wrestling. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
Born: January 4, 1918 in Kemper, Illinois the daughter of David Earl and Mary Katherine (Doyle) Rowley.
Married: Melvin M. Yates Sr. in Mexico, Missouri on March 4, 1939; he preceded her in death on May 9, 1971.
Survivors include: four grandchildren, Kim Yates of Vandalia; Lori Hull of Vandalia; Chris Yates of Vandalia; Angi and husband, Troy Brown of rural Curryville, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, Sarah Yates, Michael Trower, and Megan Trower all of Vandalia; Joseph Jennings of Licking, Missouri; Cody Smith of Louisiana, Missouri; Tyler Yates of Wellsville, Missouri; Shelby Brown, Austin Brown and Dylan Brown all of rural Curryville; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma E. Ray of Vandalia.
Preceded in death by: husband, Melvin M. Yates Sr.; one son, Melvin M. "Buddy" Yates Jr. who passed away March 16, 2006 and one daughter, Connie M. Yates who passed away in 1987; two brothers, Earl Rowley and Ralph Rowley.
