Gwendolyn P Rhodes

Gwendolyn P. Rhodes, age 83, of Vandalia Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green Missouri.

A memorial service will be held on at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Second Baptist Church, Vandalia Missouri.  Robin Terrell will officiate.  

A visitation celebrating Gwendolyn's life will be held at 11:00 am until the time of service.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Waters Funeral Home.

Gwendolyn was born on May 16, 1941, the daughter of Frank and Lula “Woods” Palmer in Vandalia Missouri.

She is survived by four sons; Dennis Griggsby of Vandalia, Tommy and Natalie Griggsby of Bowling Green, Leland Griggsby and special friend, Robyn of Vandalia and Adrian Griggsby and special friend, Lisa of St. Charles, one daughter; Sonya and Robin Terrell of Farber, one brother; Charles Overton, two sisters; Karen Palmer and Anita Palmer of Chicago, one special grand-dog; Shadow and numerous grandchildren and great children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Andrew Palmer and one sister; Marlene Palmer and special nephew Christopher Wise.

Professionally, Gwendolyn worked in health care as a CNA.

Gwendolyn enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, her TV shows, especially QVC and COPS. She also enjoyed playing BINGO with her friends but most of all; she adored her family.
