Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Frank Welch.
Music provided by: chapel music.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers:

Gerald "Jerry" Lawrence Henke passed away at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. Having lived most of his life in the Montgomery and Vandalia areas, Jerry worked early on as a farmhand for several area farmers. He worked for 12 years in maintenance at the ARDCO Die Plant in Wellsville and then worked 12 years at Reed Enterprises, before retiring. He attended the Peno Baptist Church in Bowling Green and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling as his hobbies.

Born: October 16, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri the son of Lawrence Henry and Hilda J. (Pottebaum) Henke.

Married: Wanda Sue Ames on May 29, 1971 in Perry, Missouri; she survives.

Survivors include: one son: Roger D. Henke and his fiancee, Rachel Snow both of Laddonia, Missouri; one daughter: Kimberly D. Henke and Jim Immel both of Vandalia, Missouri; four brothers: Bob Henke of Florida; Lawrence Henke of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; John Henke of Centralia, Missouri and Kenny Henke of Mokane, Missouri; one sister: Alice Simmons of Kansas City; three grandchildren: Whitney Sapp, Devon Sapp and Christopher Boos all of Vandalia; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; twin brother, James Henke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the donor's choice.
