Gladys Maxine (Terry) Stewart passed away unexpectedly at 9:58 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Maxine grew up in the Farber area and graduated from Farber High School in 1949. A year later she married Wayne Stewart and became a full-time homemaker on the family farm. They have lived at their farm in rural Curryville now since 1966. Maxine was a member of the New Harmony Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, playing different board games with her grandchildren and working crossword puzzles.
Born: February 6, 1931 in Farber, Missouri the daughter of Floyd William "John" and Beulah Madeline (Prock) Terry.
Married: Wendell Wayne Stewart on May 20, 1950 in Vandalia; he survives at the home.
Survivors include: husband, Wayne of rural Curryville; five daughters: Diana K. Moore of Taneyville, Missouri; Jayne Stewart of Columbia, Missouri; Jackie and husband, Marion Branstetter of Frankford, Missouri; Kim and husband, Greg McCollum of Centralia, Missouri and Laura and husband, Ed Jurotich of Wentzville, Missouri; three sisters: Alice Kampeter of Farber, Missouri; Imogene Dungan of Laddonia, Missouri and Fern Price of Sturgeon, Missouri; ten grandchildren: Renee, Eddie and Pat Moore; Rachel and husband, Kevin Robb; Jason, Matthew and Joshua McCollum; Joshua, Lauren and Hunter Jurotich; ten great-grandchildren: Allison, Andrew, Belle, Patterson and Jeremy Moore; Abby, Lexi and Mara Robb; Mackenzie and Gavin McCollum; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; three brothers: Charles Terry, Floyd Terry and Jack Terry; two sisters: Thelma Stewart and Dorothy Barr; one son-in-law: Ira Bud Moore.
