Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Fayetta Mae (Heim) Culwell passed away at her home south of Vandalia at 2:54 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2005. She was a lifelong area resident, being born in the rural Gazette area and living her entire life around there. Fayetta was a faithful member of the Central Union Church where until just a few years ago, was still playing the piano for church services every Sunday morning. She was always helping her husband and sons with the farming operation and enjoyed quilting, crafts, knitting, crochet and playing the piano.
Born: October 28, 1914 in rural Gazette to William and Lena Mae (Lemasters) Heim.
Married: Samuel Mayo Culwell on August 14, 1937 in Vera, Missouri.
Survivors include: husband, Mayo Culwell of rural Middletown; two sons, Shannon M. and wife, Linda Culwell of rural Vandalia; Merle Lee and wife, Sue Culwell of rural Middletown; one brother, William and wife, Melva Heim Jr. of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Deborah and husband, Alan Barnes of Middletown; Sheila and husband, Dean Middleton of Vandalia; Jeffrey and wife, Sally Culwell of Columbia; Shannon and wife, Felicity Culwell Jr. of Vandalia; ten great-grandchildren, Makenzie Barnes, Michael and Patrick Culwell, Nicholas and Emma Barnes, Isabella Culwell, Quinten Culwell, Treyson Culwell, Annalynn Culwell and Samuel Middleton.
Preceded in death by: one brother, Wendell L. Heim and one sister, Genevieve Culwell.
