Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Mexico, Missouri.
Pallbearers: David and Daniel Nichols, Alan Ham, Randall Kristofferson, Charles McCollum and Dick Hammett.
Norma F. Swan died at 4:10 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Mexico Manor. She had been a homemaker and had worked as a nurse's aide at the old Mexico General Hospital and at her husband's practice in Vandalia for many years. Mrs. Swan had lived in Vandalia since the early 1960s and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vandalia. She enjoyed reading, growing beautiful flowers, crafts, crossword puzzles and bird watching. She was a Mexico High School graduate.
Born: November 12, 1926 in Mexico, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Goldie Fay Duty Powell.
Married: Dr. Keith D. Swan on September 25, 1945 in Mexico, he survives at the home.
Survivors include: Husband, Dr. Keith D. Swan of Vandalia; one son, Stephen and wife, Kathleen Swan of Hartsburg; two daughters, Beverly and husband, James Reed of Canyon, Texas and Denna and husband, Gary Nichols of Vandalia; one brother, George Powell of Mexico; two sisters, Dorothy Burt of Auxvasse and Daphne Sweeney of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Patricia Ham of Vandalia; David, Daniel and Pamela Nichols of Vandalia and Mathew and Nathaniel Swan of Hartsburg.
Preceded in death by: parents and one brother, Glen Powell.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church, Vandalia or Audrain Medical Center.
