Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 9 a.m. until service time at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.
Service:

Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers: Richard Jennings, Richard Hays, Aaron Moss, Larry Trower, Cleties Sparks and Bill Beatty. Honorary pallbearers: Wayne Hamlett, Vaughn Hamlett, Edsel Cunningham and Gene Traynor.

Emmett "Pete" Morris Jr. passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Pete attended Middletown schools and lived his entire life in the New Hartford area. After school, he worked on the family farm before joining the U. S. Army during World War II. Upon returning home from his military service, Pete continued farming and also worked for 15 years at Harbison Walker Refractories in Vandalia. He was baptized into the Baptist Church and enjoyed several hobbies. Pete was an avid coon hunter, bird hunter and Cubs fan during the baseball season. He had also worked for over seven years with the Pike County ASCS office.

Born: October 23, 1922 in rural Pike County, Missouri the son of Emmett Webster and Julia Webster (Trower) Morris.

Married: Jacqueline "Jackie" Geleta Watts on December 21, 1940 in Vandalia; she preceded him in death on October 5, 2005.

Survivors include: one son, Steven R. Morris of rural Middletown, Missouri; one daughter, Sandra K. and husband Bill Traynor of Bowling Green, Missouri; also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Jackie; an infant son, Nicholas Edward Morris; one brother, Garnet Morris and two sisters, Dosha Adams and Myrtyle Kruestriker.
