Officiating will be: Rev. Glenn Forman.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Mark Darnell, Bobby McCurdy, Raymond McCurdy, Matt Graves, Amy Kleindienst and Jim Lybarger. Honorary pallbearers were: Beth Graves and Jack Heaston.
Elsie Marie Potter passed away at her home during the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Elsie attended area schools and was a 1962 Vandalia High School graduate. After school, Elsie worked at the Bobby Brooks garment factory in Vandaia for several years. She then worked for over 10 years at Harbison Walker Refractories as a forklift operator. Elsie had most recently been working for several years as a nurse's aide at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vandalia and a member of the VFW Post 2173 Ladies Auxiliary for over 37 years. Elsie enjoyed sewing, crochet and going to garage and yard sales.
Born: September 13, 1944 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of William Hamock and Beatrice (Ames) Moore.
Married: Charles C. Potter Sr. on December 30, 1963; he preceded her in death on December 26, 2000.
Survivors include: one son: Charles C. and wife, Sandra Potter Jr. of Appleton, Wisconsin; two daughters: Anita A. Potter of Falcon, Colorado and Rita D. Maloney of Columbia, Missouri; five grandchildren: Charles Potter III, Jared Maloney, Sarah Darnell; Zoe Potter and Kasey Darnell.
Preceded in death by: parents; one brother, Harry Moore and one sister, Alice Heaston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the VFW National Home in care of Waters Funeral Home, P O Box 84, Vandalia, Missouri 63382-0084.
