Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Doris Ann (Trower) Culwell passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. She was a 1952 graduate of the Louisiana High School and member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia. After school, Doris worked at the Kroger store, Vandalia State Bank, Pearson's Clothing Store and retired in February 2007 from the Wal-Mart Store in Mexico, Missouri. During most of her married life, Doris also worked with her husband on their farm near Vandalia. She was a member of the Tri-County Saddle Club, worked with the 4-H club and was a member of the Vandalia Fair Board. Doris enjoyed horseback riding, water skiing, bowling and spending time with her family.
Born: March 30, 1934 in Louisiana, Missouri the daughter of Leonard and Maude Elizabeth (Powers) Trower.
Married: Wendell M. Culwell on December 24, 1950 in Louisiana; he preceded her in death on February 29, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons: W. Timothy and wife, Amy Culwell of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; Thomas E. and wife, Melissa Culwell of Vandalia, Missouri; two daughters: Cheryl Pargeon of Mexico, Missouri and Lisa and husband, Mel Wade of Long Beach, California; dear friend, Kim Burton; eight grandchildren: Nathan Pargeon, Kyler Selby, Melvin Wade IV, Harley Wade, Haley Culwell, Clayton Culwell, Riley Culwell and Kaylen Culwell.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Wendell; one sister: Donna Woodson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the American Lung Association.
