Doris Kaye Britton, age 72, of Farber Missouri, passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Washington Missouri on Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 30, 2023, at Waters funeral Home. Reverend Jerry Ostrom will officiate. Burial will be at Farber Cemetery.
Visitation celebrating Doris Britton will be held at 9:00 am until 11:00 am Monday October 30, 2023, at the Waters Funeral Home.
Doris was born on January 20, 1951, in Columbia, Missouri the daughter of James and Ruth (Perkins) Day.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Britton. Floyd precedes her in death.
Survivors include Two Daughters, Dana Wallace of Vandalia, MO, Lorrie Heaton (Jamie) of Vandalia; Son-in-Law, Frank Wallace; Three Brothers, David Day (Sandy) of Sturgeon, MO, Darren Day (Michelle) of Columbia, MO, Daniel Day (Becky) of Columbia, MO; Sister, Susie Finley (Ed) of Farber; Grandchildren, MaKenzie Mudd (Daniel), Parker Wallace (Jordan), Clayton Heaton (Izzy), Kayla Heaton and Devin Vanderkamp; Great-Grandchildren: Emmitt, Elsie, Cora lee and Luna Faye.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Floyd Britton; Brother, James Day; Sisters: May Anne Bailey, Donna Bise and Carol Peacock.
Doris graduated from Van-Far Schools and went on to further their education at Hannibal LaGrange where earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Professionally Doris worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and Physical Therapy Assistant at the Mexico Veterans Home.
Doris was a member of the Farber Baptist Church.
Doris loved life, especially her longtime partner and confidant, Lawrence Luebrecht. She enjoyed going to the boat and trying her luck every now and then. She enjoyed card games with her family, especially Pitch. Most of all, she adored spending her time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
