Doris Anne Harris Bradford, age 80, of Clayton IN, passed away on July 30, 2023. A Visitation Service will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, October 12 with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 at the Vandalia, MO First Baptist Church.
Doris was born on April 26, 1943, in Farber MO to Robert (Smokey) Harris and Marie Katherine Hull Harris, both now deceased. She attended Chaffee MO schools. She and Hershel Bradford were married in 1971. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2020.
Throughout her life, Doris lived in Alabama, Indiana, Vandalia MO and grew up in Chaffee, Mo which she still affectionately called home.
Doris was the mother of seven children whom she loved with all her heart; Rick (Heather) Hailey, League City Texas, Robyn Suzanne Hailey (deceased), Randy Hailey (deceased), Ronda Hailey (Jim) Admire (deceased), Rodney Bradford and Ronnie Bradford, Clayton IN, Robert (Debbie) Bradford of Indianapolis IN. and a stepson, James Wayne Bradford (deceased). Her life revolved around them. They blessed her life with 14 grandchildren; Bob Hailey and Matthew Hailey of League City, Texas, Ryan (Carol) Hailey of Murfreesboro TN, Chelsea Elias of League City TX, Shannon (Guy) Marsh of Huntsville AL, Megan (Evan) Admire of New York NY, Hailey (Zane) Admire of Kansas City MO, Dylan Admire (deceased), Amber Ponciroli of Nashville, TN, Chandler Bradford of Indianapolis, IN, Brittany (Austin) Sheppard of Bethlehem GA, Prestyn (Sabrina) Bradford of Spangdalem Germany, Gracey Lewis of Curryville MO, and Jarrett Gay of Farber MO. She had 11 great grandchildren; Leila, Lakin and Eli Hailey of Murfreesboro TN, Paisleigh Marsh of Huntsville AL, Leina and Ira Levicoff of New York NY, Avery, Aven and Ava Sheppard of Bethlehem GA and Melody Bradford of Spangdalem Germany. She was an amazing sister to Judy (Topper) Slinkard, of Tempe AZ, Bob (Deceased) (Ginny) Harris of Chaffee MO, Dean (Teri) Harris of El Cajon CA, Sue (Bob) Giltner of Vandalia MO, and Rusty Harris of Bowling Green MO. Doris had a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews and their families and will be remembered fondly by many cousins. Her life was also enriched by two dear friends, Mauveline Bradford and Thelma Jean Newby (Deceased) both of Alabama. She will be dearly remembered with love, affection and smiles by all those who were blessed to have been loved by her.
Doris bettered the lives of those who knew her by her sense of humor and laughter and her love for life. She thought sleeping was a waste of time. She found good in everyone and her love for family will be remembered forever. We rejoice with her that her Savior made a way for her to be having a love filled reunion with those she loves.
