David Lee Yager passed away unexpectedly at 6:22 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. David was a lifelong resident and a 1997 graduate of Van-Far High School. He has been working since March 1998 at the Pike County Sheltered Workshop in Bowling Green. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia and enjoyed many hobbies. David was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching wrestling, racing electronic slot cars, fishing, a miniature train enthusiast and loved to be with children, especially his nieces and nephews.
Born: April 6, 1978 in Mexico, Missouri the son of Carl L. and Donna Lee (Merson) Yager Sr.

Survivors include: his parents of Vandalia; one brother, Carl L. "Buddy" and wife, Tanya Yager Jr. of Tuscon, Arizona; paternal grandfather, Marvin C. Yager Sr. of Vandalia; honorary grandmother, Pat Lynn of Vandalia; aunts & uncles: Carla Hobbs of Laddonia, Missouri; Marvin C. and wife, Rose Yager Jr. of Vandalia; Janet and husband, Jim Stevenson of Farber, Missouri; also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: paternal grandmother, Virginia A. (Rinker) Yager and maternal grandfather, David L. Merson.
Memorials are encouraged to the American Cancer Society.
