Davaline Overton, age 72, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 9:15 pm Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Tri-County Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Waters Funeral Home. Brother Kenny Haddock will officiate. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation celebrating Davaline Overton will be held at 10:00 am until the service, Saturday August 5, 2023, at Waters Funeral Home.
Davaline was born on October 23, 1950, in Mexico Missouri, the daughter of Eugene Turner and Madilene (English) Turner.
She was united in marriage to Charles Overton on in 2000, in Mexico MO. Charles survives her in death.
Survivors included Husband, Charles Overton of Vandalia. Two Sons, Jeffrey Ferguson of Vandalia, MO, Keith Ferguson of Vandalia, MO; Two Step-Sons, Kent West, Hurley West; Granddaughter-Daughter, Swantiese "Punkin" Woodson; Three Brothers, Ronald Turner of Vandalia, MO, Donald Turner of Springfield, MO, Eugene Turner of Bloomfield, MI; three sisters: Sonia Wheeler of Jefferson City MO, Mary Wommack of Louisiana MO and Joanne Dixon of Davenport IA; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one Son, Lance Ferguson; brothers: Harold Rogers, Robert (Bobby) English, Charles Turner and her twin, David Turner. Two sisters; Freida Acuff and Gayle Kraft. One nephew; Adriane.
Davaline graduated from Van-Far High School. Professionally Davaline proudly worked as a Activities Director for Tri-County Care Center for 40 years. She thoroughly enjoyed working with her work family and residents.
Davaline was known by all as a kind soul. She collected things and nik-naks such as seasonal decor for her home and would decorate for every holiday throughout out the year; especially Christmas. She enjoyed her "Candy Crush" games and bowling in her free time. She was also known for her "Champion" Chicken and potato salad. She adored her 22- year -old four- legged-dog, Sasha Marie Overton. Davaline will be missed by many.
Davaline was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Honorary Pallbearers: William Wheeler, Ronnie Greene, Anthony Walker, Tom Griggsby, Donnell Perkins and Michael Cook.
