Billie Lea Martin

Billie Lea Martin, age 71, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 12:03 pm Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangement are under the direction of the Waters Funeral Home.

Billie was born on December 21, 1949, in Mexico, Missouri the daughter of William and Mabel (Adams) Claywell.

She was united in marriage to Mike Martin on December 21, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vandalia. He survives.

Billie is also survived by her children, Darren (Misty) Martin of Lake St. Louis, and Lisa (Mike) Atkinson of Farber; one brother, Mike Farmer of Iowa; seven grandchildren, Madison Martin, Kaitlin Atkinson, Sophie Atkinson, Haven Atkinson, Trey Atkinson, Ella Martin, and Kaley Martin; and four great grandchildren, Ryder Atkinson, Liam Atkinson, Layla Myers, and Addy Myers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and sisters, and one great grandson, Elliott Selby.

Billie graduated from Mexico High School Class of 1967 and worked for the Hannibal Regional Hospital as a Secretary of Radiology before her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends’ playing cards, visiting the casino, or listening to oldies music. But nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren and her family.
