Service:

Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite songs.
Interment will be in the Hays Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Joe Saitta, Owen Roberts, Larry Kirtlink, Alan Kirtlink, Doug Davis and Ed Potter.

Barbara Ann (Mitchell) Potter passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital. She was a lifelong rural Ralls County resident and attended Brice and Vandalia schools. Barbara, while a fulltime homemaker, sold for Avon and Mary Kay for several years. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and helped many years with the Mark Twain Booster Club. Barbara was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, enjoyed working with crafts, trout fishing and spending time with her children and eight grandchildren. She will be missed by all her family and friends and especially her constant companion, Maggie her dog.

Born: March 26, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri the daughter of Walter Eugene and Beulah Bell (Fitzpatrick) Mitchell.

Married: Michael Wayne Potter on December 15, 1972 in Vandalia, Missouri.

Survivors include: husband, Mike of rural Vandalia; mother-in-law, Alice Potter of Vandalia; one son, Charles Eugene "Chad" and wife, Megan James of Higgensville, Missouri; three daughters: Tammy Renee and husband, Joe Saitta of Leawood, Kansas; Shawna Kay and husband, Owen Roberts of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; Aron Ann Potter of Canton, Missouri; one sister, Carol Jean and husband, Eugene Kirtlink of Perry, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Chloe James, Cassidy James, Alexandra Roberts, Quinn Roberts, Alice Jane Roberts, Annabella Saitta, Sophia Saitta and Ava Saitta; one great-grandpuppy, Bunter Fenway.

Preceded in death by: parents.
