Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vandalia.
Officiating will be: Father Paul Hartley.
Music provided by: Sacred Heart Choir.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vandalia.
Pallbearers: Jeff Garrett, Travis Kampeter, Benny Burnett, Terry Dungan, Chris Terry and Steve Terry.
Alice L. Kampeter passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She was a life-long Farber area resident and graduated in 1943 from Farber High School. Alice was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After high school, she worked for several years at the Ely Walker Garment Factory in the office. She was then employed as a cook at the Farber School and worked there for over 25 years prior to her retirement. Alice was active in her community serving as the treasurer for the Farber Cemetery Association for many years. She also was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and had been president of the Farber PTA. Alice enjoyed cooking, playing cards, taking the grandchildren on trips, going to the different shows in Branson. She was a very caring person, as she helped raise four of her siblings.
Born: April 13, 1925 in Osceola, Missouri the daughter of Floyd William and Beulah Madeline (Prock) Terry.
Married: Vinston E. Kampeter in Laddonia, Missouri on October 21, 1944.
Survivors include: husband, Vinston of Farber; one son, Ed and wife, Penny Kampeter of rural Curryville; two daughters: Charlene and husband, Barry Garrett of Columbia; Nancy E. Burnett of Vandalia; one sister, Fern Price of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Tricia Kampeter of Vandalia; Travis and wife, Mindy Kampeter of Eldon; Jessica Kampeter of Center; Jeff and wife, Susan Garrett of O'Fallon; Lindsey and husband, Travis Bedford of Lake St. Louis; Allison and husband, Danny Vaughan of Wardsville; Benny and wife, Sarah Burnett of Vandalia; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; two stillborn sons, Eaddy Lee and John Herman Kampeter; three brothers: Charles, Floyd and Jack Terry; four sisters: Imogene Dungan, Maxine Stewart, Thelma Stewart and Dorothy Barr; one son-in-law, Rodney Burnett and one grandson, Dan Garrett.
Memorials are encouraged to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vandalia.
