Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be: Pastor Glenn Swarthout.
Music provided by: Jerry Northcutt & Glenn Swarthout.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Scott Ulrich, Richard Ulrich, Mitch Ulrich, Isaac Swarnes, Noah Swarnes and Randy Landman.

Alice Jane (Bogue) Coss passed away with family at her side at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her home in Vandalia. Alice grew up and attended schools in Vandalia, graduating in the class of 1956 from Vandalia High School. She then attended Hannibal-LaGrange College and received her bachelors of science in education from Culver Stockton University. Alice received her masters degree in education from Webster University in St. Louis. She taught for 34 years at the Boncl School in Louisiana, Missouri, retiring in 1997. Alice became a director at a daycare facility and served as a board member of the Pike County Christian School. She was an active member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in WMU and other church activities. Alice was a member of the Herb Club in Louisiana and enjoyed reading, embroidery, gardening and visiting with friends and family.

Born: December 16, 1938 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of Robert Allen and Pearl Alice (Brookshier) Bogue.

Married: Fred Duane Coss on December 1, 1958 in Vandalia.

Survivors include: husband, Fred of Vandalia; two daughters: Lori J. and husband, Carl Ulrich of Bowling Green, Missouri; Lisa K. and husband, John Swarnes of Philadelphia, Missouri; one sister, Ruth Ann and husband, Robert Landman of Hannibal, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Scott Ulrich, Richard Ulrich, Mitch Ulrich, Rachel Swarnes, Isaac Swarnes, Noah Swarnes and Lydia Swarnes.

Preceded in death by: parents.

Memorials are encouraged to the Elm Grove Baptist Church, to the Pike County Christian School in Curryville or to the American Cancer Society.
